Product Details: Kalorik 26-Quart Digital MAXX Air Fryer Oven Review

The Kalorik 26 Quart Digital Maxx Air Fryer Oven with 7 Accessories combines 9 appliances into one, serving as an air fryer, oven, grill, toaster, roaster, rotisserie, pizza oven, broiler, and warmer.

This chef-inspired, As Seen on TV air fryer oven cooks food faster than ever while lowering fat and calories for healthier meals thanks to special Turbo Maxx technology. Compared to other air fryer ovens, it can cook whole chickens up to 27% faster and sear steaks up to 37% faster. The crispy texture and rich flavor of deep-fried food are delivered with little to no oil thanks to an optimized airflow system and high-performance turbo fan designed for maximum circulation!

In the meantime, upper and lower heating elements distribute heat evenly for dishes that are cooked to perfection. With the rotisserie setting, which rotates the included spit accessory to allow meat to roast evenly in its own flavorful juices, you can create authentic rotisserie chicken, pork, and kebabs. To perfectly caramelize meat or vegetables, the Kalorik Digital Maxx Air Fryer Oven can reach temperatures of up to 500°F. A 26-quart capacity fits a large chicken, 12″ pizza, or up to 9 slices of toast. Modern glass French doors that open with just one hand stop dripping and scalding.

When the doors are open, an automatic shutoff safety feature stops the device from operating. With 21 presets for trouble-free cooking, a simple digital LED display is available. What We Like

  • Quiet operation
  • Versatile accessories
  • Bright oven light

What We Don’t Like

  • Flimsy construction
  • Cooks unevenly
  • Condensation builds up; leaks out of doors
  • Smokes during cooking
  • Expensive

Design: Some Major Flaws

None of those apply to the Kalorik air fryer oven. We assumed this air fryer would be extremely sturdy because the box felt fairly heavy. We were disappointed to discover some scuffs on the stainless steel exterior right out of the box. Overall, the metal construction seems flimsier, thinner, and of lower quality than that of the other models we’ve examined.

It has a box-like shape and is fairly heavy at 17 pounds. It fit underneath our cabinets with a few extra inches. The cooking trays in air fryer ovens are small, but they take up a lot of room, so keep that in mind. You’re sacrificing a lot of counter space if you only cook one small tray of food at a time, barring the purchase of additional trays.

The oven has glass French doors that open automatically with just one hand. The magnetic closure and open/close mechanism felt flimsy and weak, and the doors were unevenly hung, leaving us to wonder how well they would hold up to heavy use. Cooking trays must be crammed tightly between the doors because they don’t extend past the oven’s sides. Consequently, every time we used it, we would bang into the doors.

Setup: Lots to Unpack

Our initial reaction to this air fryer is that there are a lot of parts to unpack. With nine accessories, it took us some time to unpack everything, determine their intended uses, give them a basic cleaning, and determine how to store them.

Features: 21 Cooking Presets

All air fryers and convection ovens function because of the heating elements and fan that produce hot circulated air; this oven is outfitted with Turbo Maxx Technology. It has 1700 watts of power to speed up the heating process. The temperature range is 80 to 500 degrees, and the time range is one to 90 minutes, but the precise range depends on the cooking preset you choose.

There are 21 cooking presets, including air fry, bake, broil, pastry, pizza, proof, roast, and toast. There are also presets for defrosting, reheating, eggs, bacon, corn, fries, and vegetables. Seven presets are for the oven, and fourteen are for air fryers. Despite what the instruction manual says, dehydrating typically takes a number of hours, and the oven’s maximum time is only 90 minutes.

There are nine extras: an air fryer basket, a rack, a crumb tray, a bacon tray, a two-in-one reversible steak and dehydrator tray, a rotisserie spit, a rack handle, and a rotisserie handle. To prevent the bacon from dripping grease as it cooks, the bacon tray has a wavy design.

Although the rack, crisper tray, steak pan, bacon tray, and baking sheet can all be stored inside the oven, you will still need to remove them each time you use it, which could get tiresome. The handle, rotisserie spit, and tray handle will also need to be kept somewhere else.

Cleaning: Accessories Are Dishwasher Safe

We might have only had no problems with cleaning while using this air fryer oven. Except for the crumb tray, all of the accessories are dishwasher safe.

If you air fry wings or roast a whole chicken, the inside of the oven will likely become quite greasy. The manual suggests wiping down the interior and glass doors with a cloth dipped in soapy water, but in our experience, this method makes it difficult to get rid of grease and food drips. Although we also encountered this issue with other oven-style air fryers, it is not specific to the Kalorik.

Price: Overpriced

More expensive than standalone air fryers, the Kalorik Air Fryer Oven has a suggested retail price of $200. When you consider that this cooker is built to provide more cooking space and perform the duties of ten cooking appliances, the higher price may seem justified, but appearances can be deceiving.

While some customers are happy with the Kalorik’s performance, others are dissatisfied to discover that the appliance feels flimsy and cooks unevenly, as we discovered. We have to agree with the latter because an appliance with that high a price tag should be of higher quality and perform consistently. If the product came with a long-lasting warranty, we might feel better about the price, but the limited warranty is only valid for a year.

The Air Fryer Oven Buying Guide

  • You won’t need an air fryer if your toaster oven or oven has a convection setting. Convection ovens perform the same function as air fryers. These appliances cook by moving hot air around ingredients with the aid of a tiny fan.
  • French fries can be cooked in convection ovens and air fryers, but neither method will produce the same results as deep frying. Even though the outside skin crisps up, the texture and flavor might not be quite as good as if you had deep-fried them.
  • Examine your air fryer oven’s accessories carefully. Some include more than others, so you won’t want to be rushing to buy something at the last minute.
  • Cleaning is always important, but it’s especially important when using a kitchen appliance that will produce baked-on, difficult-to-remove food particles. Take note of the oven’s removable parts for cleaning and any components that can go in the dishwasher. Simply because you can disassemble one and put most of it in the dishwasher after each use may influence your decision.
  • Some air fryer ovens have preset buttons. This means that the cooking time and temperature are already set for you when you simply insert the ingredients and press a button.
  • Inspect your oven to see if it has a recipe book or website. There are many generic air fryer recipes available online, but having a few that are specific to your model and make can be very useful.
  • Pay close attention to the oven’s temperature range. There are people with a wider range than others. As you look into cooking new foods, you might discover that these restrictions become a hindrance.
  • Usually, having a window that allows you to watch your food cook is a huge perk. If not, you will need to open the door to check on your food, which will increase the time it takes to cook.

Final Verdict

This model can probably be ignored.

The Kalorik 26-Quart Digital MAXX Air Fryer Oven does not, in our opinion, offer the best heating or the best build when it comes to oven-style air fryers, so we recommend looking into other models.
